How to Make Charcoal the Grenadian Way: Traditional Charcoal Making (2018)
James "Mike" Thomas demonstrates traditional charcoal making the Grenadian way. On Grenada, many still cook with charcoal made from hardwood, often buying or making charcoal as they clear land for farming. Charcoal pits are created and wood is buried, then burned slowly until converted to coals, which are then quenched and stored for cooking. Charcoal is sometimes called "biochar." Whatever you call it, it's good for cooking oildown!
